About us

After working for some of the UK’s largest housebuilders, Paul and Mark founded Aviary in 2021 to meet the growing need for high-quality private housing on small-scale, exclusive sites. The team’s passion lies in creating beautiful, traditionally designed family homes with generous gardens.

 

We are proud to call Essex home, a County steeped in history, adorned with greenery and with excellent connectivity to London. It also has one of the fastest growing populations in the UK with an increasing number of Londoners heading for greener pastures each year. We will continue to focus delivery across Essex and surrounding areas.

 

Aviary is a family run business benefitting from a private funder who owns one of Malaysia’s fastest growing housebuilders. They specialise in the delivery of sustainable new towns and share Aviary’s core values of quality, sustainability and customer care.

Mark Bedding

Co-Founder / Land and Planning Director

Mark has significant experience within the development industry, beginning his career at Savills in the West End before holding senior management positions at housebuilding PLCs, including Crest Nicholson. Mark has successfully identified and obtained planning consent on a number of major, residential schemes across the South East, developing close relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers along the way.

His experience in both land and planning disciplines will ensure that Aviary grows an excellent short and longer term portfolio by adding value through the planning process at every opportunity.

Paul Thompson

Co-Founder / FInance Director

Paul is extremely well respected in the industry following over 25 years’ experience within the property sector, holding Finance Director roles for PLC housebuilders including Barratt Developments and Countryside Properties.

Paul’s experience in both financial management and funding will enable the sustainable growth of the business and ensure that the correct financial and procedural controls are in place.

Paul plays a critical role in terms of decision making and manages all financial transactions, cashflow and procedural requirements including insurance across the entire business.
